Oasis of Hope Dollars for Scholars has been one of the pioneers for providing scholarships to underserved students living in underserved neighborhoods that are achieving academic excellence or have potential for excellence. The Oasis of Hope Dollars for Scholars Chapter was established in 2006 and has awarded over 80 scholarships totaling approximately $65,000.

The scholarship application period is December 31, 2024 through May 1, 2025. Applications submitted after May 1, 2025, will not be accepted and partial applications are not considered.  Scholarships are awarded by June 22, 2025 for use during the 2025-2026 academic year.  Students applying for a renewable award should update their information on the student portal and provide their recent college transcript.

Award recipients will be contacted via email and/or telephone prior to June 22, 2025.

Types of Awards

One person will be recommended for the Frank Alexander Leadership Award from the pool of qualified applicants for the Educational Excellence award. Only one Leadership award is presented each year.

The Frank Alexander Leadership Award recipient is chosen by the Board from the pool of candidates that apply for an Educational Excellence Award. This award is not renewable.

*A non-traditional student is a post high graduate or equivalent who has had a lapse in receiving post secondary education for one or more years.
